2006 Photograph, Scarlet Pimpernel (Anagallis arvensis, Primrose family), Occoquan Bay NWR, Woodbridge, Virginia © 2006. Not really scarlet but orange and purplish and there is also a blue form. Also called "Poorman's Weatherglass" because its flowers close in bad weather.
